Besides, we show you the most fascinating ancient Inca sites in the valley and take more time to explore the village of Aguas Calientes next to Machu Picchu.

Itinerary

Upon arrival at Cusco Airport, we will transfer you to your hotel. The rest of the day is free for you to rest, adjust to the altitude, and enjoy your surroundings at your own pace. No activities are scheduled for today.

After breakfast, we will pick you up and do a walking tour through the historic center of Cusco. Our local guide will show you the most fascinating spots of the Inca Capital, such as the main square, the famous 12 angled stone, the Sun Temple (Qoricancha) and the traditional market of San Pedro.

Later, you have free time to explore the vibrant city and local restaurants by yourself.

After breakfast, we will take you to Umasbamba, a charming local community near Chinchero. Here, you will immerse yourself in their rich customs and traditions through hands-on workshops that highlight authentic Andean life. You will experience traditional farming practices, learn about potato and alpaca cultivation, observe weaving demonstrations, and, depending on the season, participate in volunteering activities such as harvesting crops, helping with house construction, caring for animals, or weaving.

After a delicious lunch prepared by a local family, we will join a Mother Earth Offering ceremony led by our knowledgeable shaman from the Q’eros community. This meaningful ritual is dedicated to expressing gratitude for the abundance in our lives. Afterwards, we will continue our journey to Ollantaytambo, where you will spend a relaxing night in a comfortable hotel.

We will start the day with breakfast at the hotel and then explore the remarkable archaeological site in the village of Ollantaytambo, which offers stunning views over the valley. Afterwards, we will take the train to Aguas Calientes. This little town near Machu Picchu has a special atmosphere, and you will have time to relax at the hotel or discover the village on your own.

Later, we will meet with our guide and visit the beautiful Alcamayo waterfall, located about a 20-minute walk from the center. This activity depends on your preference and the weather, and can be decided spontaneously if you prefer to explore the village instead. At the waterfall, we will take a mindful moment to connect with Pachamama (Mother Earth). It is one of the quieter and less crowded spots in Aguas Calientes.

Afterwards, you can relax, enjoy the local restaurants, and spend the night at the hotel.

Today, after breakfast we will take a 30-minutes bus ride up to the ancient Inca citadel of Machu Picchu. We will go through the checkpoint and explore every inch of this World Wonder. Our local guide will explain the most fascinating facts about Inca history and the purpose of Machu Picchu. We will have enough time to take pictures and enjoy the special vibe of this site.

Later, we will take the bus back to Aguas Calientes, have some time for lunch (not included) and then take the train back to Ollantaytambo/Poroy. Our transfer staff will pick us up and bring us back to Cusco.

After breakfast, we will bring you to the airport, where you take your national flight.
